The closest airport to Sandestin is Ft. Walton/Valparaiso (VPS). This is a small airport on Eglin Air Force Base. Getting through security on your way out can be very time-consuming so be sure to get to the airport at least two hours before your departure.
It's about 25 miles from the airport to Sandestin. Expect to pay approximately $50 for a taxi from the airport to the resort. Rental cars are available at the airport.
Sandestin is eight miles east of Destin and 12 miles west of Seaside on Emerald Coast Parkway West (Highway 98 West). The Village of Baytowne Wharf and Baytowne Marina are through Sandestin's North (Bayside) Gate.
There is a parking lot as you enter the resort from which you can take either the complimentary water shuttle or Sandestin's trams. Limited parking is also available at the Village. Parking will be reserved at Baytowne Marina for sponsors, participants and staff.
