The Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic has joined the IGFA World Championship Circuit as a qualifying event in the IGFA Offshore World Championship.

The winners of the qualifying events are invited to compete in the IGFA Offshore World Championship tournament, this year to be held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they will compete with anglers from all over the world. Visit www.igfa.org for more information

"The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) proposes to suspend existing regulations that require Atlantic Billfish tournament participants who are fishing from HMS permitted vessels and deploying natural bait or natural bait/artificial lure combinations to use non-offset circle hooks through December 31, 2007…"

Basically, NMFS is proposing to not require circle hooks in billfish tournaments through December 31, 2007 and is opening the proposal for public comment. You must respond by March 30, 2007. Read the Entire Proposal
