THE VILLAGE OF BAYTOWNE WHARF GOES TO THE DOGS September 12, 2008 
The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is presenting the Ultimate Air Dogs Southern Dock Jumping Championships at The Village of Baytowne Wharf on September 20th and 21st.Ultimate Air Dogs is one of the premier dock jumping organizations in the country and showcases a variety of jumps including the "Splash" where dogs compete for distance, the "Ultimate Vertical" where the focus is on the height of the jump and the "Catch It" where dogs are judged by distance, but must also catch the object thrown for the jump to count. Many people come to the Ultimate Air Dog (UAD) events just to meet their president and  main announcer Milt Wilcox, the former Detroit Tiger pitcher famous for winning the 1984 World Series and the UAD mascot "Sparky". Milt and Sparky have been seen on ABC’s Good Morning America and ESPN’s Cold Pizza, and also compete in many of ESPN's Great Outdoor Games.UAD also presents demonstrations that are free shows open to all dogs, unless otherwise noted on the event schedule. The dogs are not judged or scored and their jumps do not count towards legs and titles, but pParticipating in a Demo is a great way to get experience on the dock in front of an audience for both you and your dog!
