Changes to the 2011 ECBC Rules
May 12, 2011 | Staff Writer | Each year we review our rules after the tournament and make updates. Most of the changes are just tweaking some wording, or trying to make things simpler. This year is no exception.
We always recommend that you read all of the rules thoroughly before the event, and of course a member of your team has to be at the Captains Meeting.
You can read the Rules on the website under Tournament Information. You can also download a printable version (Tournament Rules, PDF, 12 pages).
Here are the highlights:
Payment: Ownership of the resort has changed so make checks payable to "Sandestin Investments LLC". If you're planning to pay by check we must receive it by June 1st.
Captains and Mates are now automatically included as anglers as long as they are on the Entry Form.
Cash Disbursement: This is mostly a wording change about what's required to receive a cash disbursement of prize money. (To speed things up, you can fill out a W-9 online, print it and bring it with you to the Awards Brunch. We will also have blank W-9s with us at the Brunch. Online W-9)
Permits and Licenses: We expect you to comply with all State and Federal laws.
Tournament Start: There will not be an official "Boat Parade" this year, but you still can't pass the East Pass jetties before 7:00pm on Thursday.
Eligible Species: Bluefin tuna are no longer eligible. Yellowfin, blackfin and bigeye are.
Billfish Scorecards only need to be signed by the Captain of the boat.
Release Videos: We expect you to provide the cables necessary to view the video on the Judge's TV. We updated that from providing your own cassettes (does anyone use cassettes anymore?). In any case, when you bring the video to be judged bring everything we need to play it.
Judging Videos: When the Judges are looking at a video only the members from that team are allowed in the room.
That's about it. If you have any questions call Shawna Meisner at 850-267-6168 or email shawnaharris@sandestin.com. Thanks and see you there!
