ECBC Adds New Events to Friday’s Line-up

Posted by:

You just never know what’s going to happen at Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina during the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic. Even though Saturday, the second night of weigh-ins, is traditionally the “big” night, anything can come in on Friday. Especially if someone has boated a big blue marlin and wants to weigh it right away. But even if that doesn’t happen, Friday is now “big” all on its own.

Kicking it all off, Club KZ and Abrakadoodle are sponsoring a Creative Catch Contest. Kids of any age can participate from 1:00-3:00pm at the Baytowne Marina beach. The kids will create a piece of marine life art for a chance to win some cool prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. All children who participate will receive a discounted rate to attend Club KZ.

The Weigh-In officially opens at 4:00pm and the scales stay open until 9:00pm. During that time there’s plenty to eat and drink at the Marina Bar & Grill, and Live Music will start at 6:00pm. Then to cap off the evening, a spectacular fireworks display will blast off as the scales close.

It all happens Friday, June 20, at Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina.
