This year, ORCA returns to the ECBC as Presenting Sponsor, and they mean it—each participating team in this year’s tournament is getting a 20-quart ORCA cooler.
Jim Ford and Cliff Walker, hardcore hunters and anglers, and veterans of the building and trades industries, decided to use their business acumen, passion for the outdoors and sense of pride in America to create a company that could produce what they couldn’t seem to find, at any price: high-end outdoor products made in the USA that performed as advertised. The company’s first product was a cooler designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor use by professionals and novices alike and to perform far beyond the expectations of even the most critical outdoor enthusiast.
But it’s not just about selling product. The company recognizes its corporate responsibility and the need to give back to those who have helped make it successful. A portion of every ORCA product sold is returned to conservation groups, wounded warrior programs, breast cancer research and women’s outdoor groups. “We view ourselves as partners with our customers, our employees, the communities we represent and our environment,” Ford says. “Our goal is to become an internationally recognized brand, capitalizing on sustained and manageable growth through strategic business partnerships and agreements.”
He also says that their partnership as a Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Sandestin also plays a significant role in their business model. “The ECBC gives us a great opportunity to interact with our clients, where we can not only display our products but also learn more about what the tournament anglers are looking for and how we can meet those needs in the future,” Ford reports. ECBC tournament director Adam Alfonso agrees with those sentiments, saying, “It’s through sponsors like ORCA that we’re able to not only produce one of sportfishing’s best billfish tournaments but also make some very valuable contributions to marine conservation, both in our region and around the world. ORCA is a tremendous company and an outstanding corporate partner of the ECBC.”
ORCA will have their products on display throughout the tournament at Baytowne Marina so be sure to stop by, meet the staff and check out some of their innovative designs.
